It’s not every day that you’re handed the Key to the City of Vegas, break a world record, and take over a Vegas nightclub twice—all in the same night. But in 2023, I had the honor of being part of an incredible team that did just that.

The Esports Awards 2023 was truly a Cinderella story—an event that defied expectations with a fresh new format and two massive, jaw-dropping finales. Pulling off this vision was no small feat, but with passion, innovation, and a little bit of Vegas magic, we made it happen.

As the Head of Broadcast Production, my role was as challenging as it was thrilling. I was entrusted with several monumental tasks that would take the event to new heights:

  • Redesigning and evolving the event format to surpass the success of the 2022 show.

  • Executing the largest red carpet in our history, complete with the debut of “The Village,” a brand-new concept that took things to the next level.

  • Orchestrating a groundbreaking live production that introduced a Glambot feed from a cutting-edge 4K RED camera—something never done before.

  • And, perhaps most exciting of all, we broke a world record by using the largest screen ever to showcase a video game.

On the technical side, turning a nightclub into a broadcast venue is no easy feat. The team had to transform the entire venue in just 48 hours to ensure everything was show-ready. We had to adapt every inch of the space to accommodate the broadcasting equipment while maintaining the energy of a nightclub. Some of the key elements that made it all come together included:

  • A dedicated fiber line to The Switch's HQ in Los Angeles for seamless distribution.

  • Backup satellite broadcasting with two layers of failover redundancy to ensure we never lost the signal.

  • The introduction of Luna remote system cameras for the first time in our Esports Awards broadcast.

  • And, of course, a top-secret additional build for the world record, which will remain classified for now.

But the night didn’t end there. We also brought together a stellar lineup of DJs, including Britanni Johnson, Andrea Botez, Vikkstar, and NoahJ, who all helped transform Zouk Nightclub into the ultimate party for the “Esports Awards and Friends” after-party.

From the highs of the red carpet to the unforgettable after-party vibes, this night was one for the books. Below, you’ll find a gallery of photos that capture just how epic the night really was!
